Oscars- Not the hotdogs

So we decided to try out something new. In our club we asked girls to dressup as if they were going to the oscars and we would talk about each of there outfits.
Hannahs outlook on the outfits were more the positives while mine were more
constructive critisim. Overall the girls were great!!!

Lets start out though with Hannah and My outfits. (Due to Hannahs great style I asked her to make me an outfit.)

Hannah said this about the outfits: For my outfit (the left one) I decided to layer. I love the black dress, because of the nice neckline and the drapery. I put the antonio marras dress underneath because I thought since the dress was dark it could use a lighter one underneath of it. I chose the DKNY Runway bag because it is very classy and nice. The shoes bring out the lighter colors of the dress and make the overall outfit very fancy and edgy!

I picked Alyssas outfit because she is an exotic girl. The maxi dress is beautiful
especially with her hair. I chose the striped obi sash because I thought that it
contrasted the dress very very well, and it made the outfit pop! The orange clutch makes it very classy and nice! The outfit in whole makes it look as if she is strutting down a red carpet!

Veri1996
H: I love the approach veri took on this. I adore the DKNY skirt underneath the
vivienne tam. Sure its not as formal as i would have liked, but it is very femine,
classy, and sophisticated. I would have picked more elegant shoes though.
A: I love how simple but elegant this outfit is. The jewelry and headpiece greatly
add to the outfit but only having one color throws the outfit off a little.
Kelseyyin
H: I love the attempt! Lets start with the good. I adore the dress, the pearls, and the fur collar. The wings are iffy for me. I wouldnt have choose them. Although I love how she tied them in with the pink shoes to match. The gloves make it classy and very 1950's.
A: This outfit in my opinion is great. The wings kind of throw me off because of the fact that the outfit is for the Oscars but the black dress with contrasting jewelry looks great. The cut off gloves also go great with the shorter dress

Baileygirl1212
H: Gosh! You gotta love this girl! I love how she chose the Vivienne Tam, and nothing else. The dress is beautiful and makes a bold statement by itself. I love the pinkish clutch that compliments the gold. Those to colors together are some of my faves! And the shoes! They make the outfit edgy, and daring! What tops it off for me is the earrings, and i can actually feel the confidence coming off of this girl!
A: I adore this outfit. The dress looks great and the shoes match perfectly. The only thing that is something I would change would be the clutch because it doesnt match the color scheme that the rest of the doll fits.

Lapaza66
H :I would have to say that she kinda missed the point of the challenge. The dress doesnt scream oscars, but it is a tad bit formal. The leggings are what made it not formal anymore. The shoes are gorgeous, and the BAG! Its amazing! I would have appreciated more glamour or BANG!
A: This outfit for me was okay. I like the overall look but there just seems to not be much flair and sparkle. What I do love though is the color scheme. Red and black are great colors together.

Dirk691
H: Here is definetly one of my favorite girls of the whole challenge. Dirk! Girl I love you! I would have never thought to put the amazing, and Oh-so elegant Faith Hill dress with gangsta chains. But when you did it the chains look sophisticated and fashion forward which I loved! The hair was gorg, and I love the touch of fresh flowers! Way to go girl!
A: Wow! Now this is what I am talking about. This outfit just seems to stand out and I totally love this dress. The jewelry adds to the outfit and the hair piece ties in nicely too.

Popinfreash2479
H: Okay. Well the dress is wayyy to short for me, but the silky look to it makes it formal, just not the type of formal we were looking for. The shoes are kinda blah... but the bag is that spark of glam that it needed! The Bag was the best part. I would have worn another dress underneath the shorter one. The earrings are a little big for me, and they kinda clash with the hair. But they are blingin, and for me they make the outfit!
A: This outfit for me seems off. There was an attempt at a very sophisticated outfit but the dress is kinda short. The rest of the outfit is great! Maybe adding a longer dress would make this outfit better and a pair of pink heels would have been nice too
.

Fashion95
H: Lovee This! Its gorgeous. I love how she gave the edgy side to the black dress with the red belt. It pops with the contrasting colors, and i adore it! I would have picked red, or black shoes, but the ones she picked work! The puffy skirt is so hot, and very fancy!
A: Loved the addition to make a dress look. The shoes didnt really work for me because of the colors and maybe something red would have looked better. I like the red lipstick and black bow to kinda balance the outfit. Overall this outfit was unique and worked for me.

Gabbygirlrox
H: I would have liked to see more accesories with this dress. Maybe a pearl necklace. I loved the shoes. I also would have liked to see a jackey maybe.I adore the headband and the bangles! They are very stylin and glam! You go Gabby!
A:Black was the only color in this outfit which was kinda dissapionting but I still love the outfit. The necklace seems a little fake for the rest of the outfit but I loved the simple dress and nice accessories.

.e.l.l.i.e.
H: ELLIE! YOU ARE DA BOMB! My favorite! I love the sexiness of the slit up to your thigh! Its soo hot! The black cluth compliments the sexy peep toe shoes... And that ever so hot DKNY scarf! I love how the scarf ties the whole outfit together! And the Hair! Soo edgy and hot! You are my favorite. You define perfection. Way to go!
A: Amazing!!! This was overall my favorite outfit. The dress is stunning! The scarf goes great with the clutch and shoes to tie up the piece. The outfit just seems to flow and the hair adds even more.

lolz_123_lolz
H: Im going to have to say good try, but you look to much like a stripper for me. Sorry to be so honest. You stepped out on a limb, which i liked, but the whole outfit is not mystyle. I love the shoes, but the coat threw the whole outfit off. It does not say elegant anywhere, and trust me... i searched.
A: I am sorry but this outfit didnt work out for me at all! It was a great attempt but the open belly with the big coat just threw off the piece. The shoes are great but the pants are not exactly the right pants to wear them with. The hair seems a bit to big and you cannot see much of your medoll.

The Bomb!!

SNTM!!! Yes it is Stardolls Next Top Model. Many people have participated in many of these modeling competitions. If you haven't already you must check out the club SNTM.XX!!! This clubs owner is the lovely Blair.

Blair's club was inspired by the sceneries that she saw when she was on stardoll. Also when searching around she found some Top Model clubs that were in her opinion just not good at all. A club she thought would be better if it was fun, challenging and would inspire people and then came the birth of her club.

Blair's club has a couple of goals. She wants to discover talent, make talent and inspire people. As you can tell in her previous club the top three contestants were bluegreen86, undamyumbrellla, and iamyourfat, all three of which were winners of Star Awards! See the club really does help people become known to stardoll.

Her clubs lovely judges consist of:

Blair. I absolutely love fashion and modelling...it is my aspiring career. I was in Mel's Models, bluegreen86's club, and came in second place. I now am a judge in MNTM. I've never been "superstar" but I'm still FIERCE with a capital f.

Bluegreen86 was the winner of my previous clubs and is one of my best friends on stardoll.

Undamyumbrellla was runner up of my previous club.

Siamesecatlover was winner of Cycle 1 of SNTM.

Of course with everything wonderful there has to be complications. Blair says the most callenging thing about her club is "When contestants don't put in any effort...really. Sometimes they don't even do the challenges. It makes me sad because so many girls on stardoll would love to have that opportunity yet they are throwing it away. I even had to cancel a cycle once because many contestants just didn't care. Overall though, I love running SNTM...there is so much talent that is discovered through my competition and I love it!"

Blair is incredible and never seems to have anything bad to say. Overall her club is amazing and I have been lucky enough to take part in her current cycle of SNTM and if I am lucky enough I will be able to see the talent through the club bloom.

These Need to be Virtual!

Hey. Well with all the new stardoll clothes (Elle, DKNY) i think that we need to get out of this rut of just the same brands. We need some new inspired bys! I personnally love being able to own some virtual designer couture... dont you? And stardoll's inspired bys have slowly dwindled, making it boring for me, a collector. So tell me what you think of these dashing duds! Is stardoll up to the Challenge?

These sandals are to DIE for! I am in hopeless love with them! OMG! They are Christian Dior, Miss Dior I Strappy Sandals. And wow. I know why Imelda loved her shoes. Yumm.. These are scrumptious! I especially love the detailing of the front. Not that those stupid stardoll graphic designers could even come close to that kind of detail.

Here we have another little Dior Treat! Its the Zebra Jazz Flip Bag, and the name alone makes me crazy for it! Zebra has never looked so hot.
I dont know why, but this season, im really rooting for Dior. Who wouldnt? These clothes are delish!

Grr Stardoll! This is DKNY Spring RTW collection 2009. However stardoll didnt make it! I love the blue dress with the nice belted waist! Its adorable! Uggh. Stardoll! Shame on you! How did you overlook this dress!!!!!!!!!!! Me and hundreds of others are crying for this dress!!!

Mcqueen Continues to WOW me with this creation. Just looking at it makes me wanna cry! The fabulous shape of the pattern, and simplicity of the dress make this dress amazinzing! I especially love the teeny tiny sleeve. Again, stardoll designers would never be able to exacute this one perfectly, but if they make this dress, i will be the happiest little camper ever.

Here i go again. This is my favorite shoe. Ever. The high heeled gladiator look has got me totally head over heels in love! This shoe, by Pierre Hardy, are soo natural and springy! They would look fabulous with almost any spring stardoll outfit. Plus look at the detail on the heel. Now that is classy.

These little beauties were made only by the best. You guessed it. Manolo Blahnik. Uggh! I wish i was a rich girl. Then i would buy shoes shoes shoes. These cut out booties would be crazy on stardoll! Our virtual feet wanna be seen too! And the Laces? ADORABLE! The simpicity of black and white tops it all off. I need these.

Last but not Least. This dress by Versace RTW spring collection 2009 is amazing! Reminds me of the old Balmain dresses with a mod twist. I love the halter neckline, and the heart shaped thing that connects it with the dress. You would have to agree, black is back. And Classy, Sophisticated, and most definetly HOT!

Big Brand. Big Price.

Anyone else see that little brand we call DKNY.... Well. Nothings little about the price. Altogether it cost 297 small little stardollars. Lets just say, I'm getting my dads credit card out for stardollars as we speak. I dont get why it has to cost so much. Well, actually I do. Stardoll wants you to spend more money, so you will have to buy more stardollars. Duh. But if they keep this up I imagine that they will start losing customers that are unwilling to spend this much money. I am particularily fond of the the shoes, the skirt and the big dresses. But i gotta say. That price is a HUGE turn off.

What's It Called Again?

I am sure everyone has heard of MelsModels. If not you have been totally missing
out!

MelsModel is just like an ANTM but in a stardoll version. When the cycle starts girls are chosen and there are weekly challenges, eliminations, and contestants are models through sceneries which they must create themselves. The goal of the club is to find Melanie's Next Top Model. Mel says "Melanie's Next Top Model is someone who has the personality, looks, skills, and drive to be a model and one who is better then the rest and clearly stands out!" The club is also a platform for the girls who are not currently superstar so that they may be noticed and get the attention they deserve.
Inspiration comes in many different ways. Mels inspiration for her club was from when she met Undamyumbrellla, one of her first friends on stardoll. She had been show the club SNTM.comp which was created by Itgonnarain. Both the girls auditioned for the first cycle and Mel went on to win with Undamyumbrellla coming as runner up. Mel said "It was so much fun! All the positivity, creativity, innovation, and fun I witnessed and was apart of is really what motivated me to make my club! "

Of course in the club there are judges and a little bit about them as written by Bluegreen86 and shown on the presentation in the club:

Bluegreen86 (Mel/headjudge)- I have won two modeling competitions, and
came in second in another. I started out as a non-superstar and won SNTM.comp.
I then went on to win a famous modeling competition ANTM cycle 15. I then went on to place as the runner-up of the All-Star ANTM cycle 21! I know what it is like to be in a modeling competition, and what it takes to be a true top model. I also have won the January 2009 star award for best female medoll, and best advisor twice in Paulina's club so I am an all around rolemodel!
Gyrgyr- Respected designer and stylist here on stardoll. She has impeccable taste and is a trendsetter with the way she creates her outfits and designs her own.

Siamesecatlover- Up-and-coming model on stardoll. I have worked with her
previous to this competition in another modeling competition SNTM.XX, where she went on to win the title.

Undamyumbrellla- supermodel of stardoll, has been featured in many famous
magazines such as teenstyle, Done!, and Eternity.

CaMiLaAa88- Winner of Cycle 1 of MNTM

Itgonnarain- Runner up in Cycle 1 of MNTM

Throughout it all I personally decided to check out the club and it lived up to the expectations that I had heard from friends. The club is very supportive and has
some very creative people participating in the competition. The club is very clean and is great for people show off there creativity and dedicaition. You can bet I will be trying out for the next wonderful cycle of Melanie's Next Top Model!!!

So don't forget to join and see what the club is all
about.
